Name Change

Hi everyone

Well Christmas is over and the new year just around the corner.  I have been doing a little crafting but not much as I would like to maybe because having no me time just family time.

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and Santa was good to everyone, I must say he was good to me this year and got more than i probably deserved, I got a new laptop, CD, pj's and an Ebosser.  So I was more than happy.

Now you probably have noticed that I have changed my blog name and have been thinking of doing this for a while. Although it was a catchy name and I liked it, I wanted to put my name in it, so please tell me what you think whether you like the old name - Flossy's paper palace better or the new name.

I am hoping to blog a little more of my crafting makes, adding photos of random things, some of which may not relate to paper crafting.

Right thats enough of me jibbering, and say to all my crafty friends and family is to wish everyone a

Happy New Year and hope 2014 is everything you wished for.

I used a digi stamp from our sponsors and enlarge it onto white card and used distress ink to give it some colour.  I put together some flowers and used black gem swirls and some gems to embellish.

Brown Sugar Challenge #49

Oh my were into a new month and a new Brown Sugar Challenge.

This week has been a little challenging for me as I lost my son to 3 days trekking over the Sperrin mountains for his Silver Duke of Ed.  He left on Tuesday and the weather was awful it rained heavy all day and he said it was really hard, but thankfully hes home all in one peace but really tired and sore.  Ok that's enough of me wittering on ...

Our theme for this weeks challenge is

Beach

My project for this week is another layout.  This photo was taken last year in Florida when we visited Discovery Cove to swim with the dolphins.  The picture was taken in the beach area where you could snorkel in among the fish, there was all sorts all size.  There was the biggest stingray fish I ever saw, I didn't like them much.  Oh I'm wittering on again, right let me tell you what I did before I get sidetracked again.

I used a plain piece of blue card from my stash and a piece of DCWV paper from my stash.I matted the photo onto a piece of blue card the same of the background and then onto a piece of yellow card.  I used some sticker embellishments and finally a digital image from Digi Darla Designs.  My image is Digidarlas Snorkling.
I coloured him in with promarkers and cut around the image, it came along with little bubbles which I used clear dew drops to highlight and cut the little fish out and stuck it to the side.  I thought the image was just right to go with my photo.

The Ribbon Girls Colour Challenge

Happy Birthday - upbeat style

I thought I would enter this card for the colour challenge on The Ribbon Girl Blog using the colours green and white, run on over to see their blog and online store.

This card I made for my nephew's birthday.  Its made using some distress inks, ribbon, buttons.  I used background stamps from Creative Expressions - newsprint, bubble wrap, urban beats, urban life by Sam Poole and spellbinders labels 25.

Mother's Day

 Brown Sugar Design Team Call

I thought I would try out for a design team call from brownsugarchallenge.blogspot.co.uk, the deadline in the 25th March.  This is a great blog to visit for challenges and ideas.

This is a picture of the card I made for my mum for Mother's Day, she just loved it and believe it or not it is still sitting on the mantle piece.

I folded a piece of cream card to the size of 5 ¾ x 7 ¼.  The red card is a piece of core color from coredinations and I embossed it with garden lattice and sanded it down using my sand it tool and I used my distress tool around the edges.   I cut another piece of cream card stock 4 x 61/4 and also die cut from decorative rectangles, stamped it with classic rose from stampendous, coloured it in and attached it to the cream card stock.  I embellished it with a piece of lace, a few paper flowers, adhesive pearls and pearl swirls.  I stamped a sentiment image onto kraft card stock and die cut it with lacey circles.
