Aubery wishes you a Happy Birthday

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by my blog.

Over at Brown Sugar we have a new challenge starting today.

Theme: Brown, black and blue

This weeks card I found quite easy to do as I didnt have to colour the image, my base card is kraft card stock layer with a piece of black card and then my patterned paper edges with a mix of vintage photo and hickory smoke distress ink.

The piece of brown card stock from my bits box was embossed with a happy birthday embossing folder and then i lighlty rubbed a victage photo over the top.  When I attached it onto my layers I attached to wee silver tool charms on with hot glue.  The happy birthday sentiment is stamped with faded jeans distress ink and I went over it lightly with a paint brush to fill in the bit that was missed.

This photo shows the little of the inside of the card with is black, blue and brown card stock layered with a matching piece of patterned paper as the top layer.

I didnt have to colour in my image this week as I requested one already coloured and it was the perfect colours for our challenge.  The image it from our sponsors

Another new hobby

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.

I'm sorry everyone but I think I've caught the colouring bug.  I have 3 adult colouring books for a few months now bringing them out looking at them and then closing them again.  Well I decided to take the bull by the horns and start colouring the Secret Garden one in.  My hubby bought me the Harry Potter one for Christmas and the other ones I have are from the Johanna Basford collection -

Enchanted Forest
Secret Garden
Lost Ocean

Here are a few photos of my colouring so far.

I must admit when I colouring I'm so relaxed and I am sleeping better at night.  So now I have to say that it is another hobby to add to the rest.

Best Wishes

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by my blog.

Over at Brown Sugar we have a new challenge starting today.

Theme: Anything Goes

I have made this card with a winter birthday theme in mind and it turned out not too bad but the image would also be able to be used for a Christmas card as well.

This card is a square approx 6 x 6 size, I folded the top right hand corner back and put layers of patterned paper and card stock on it.

I coloured this image in with my daughters coloured pencils - Staedtler ergosoft pencils and it didn't turn out to bad, layered in on orange card stock.

I stamped my sentiment in coffee archival ink and matted and layered it in the same colours as the card was done and attached it with 3D foam tape.

Items used:-

Image from sponsors - In the cold
Steadtler Ergosoft Pencils
Red, orange and white card stock
Blue paper (magazine freebie)
Red self adhesive pearls 4mm/2mm
Striped patterned paper - Very Merry by Imagine That
Red grosgrain ribbon from Stampin Up
Cosmic Shimmer pva glue
Double sided tape
Archival Ink - Coffee
Best Wishes stamp (another magazine freebie)
1mm 3D foam tape

Sponsor -Robyn's Fetish

Bookfolding Our Alfie

Hi everyone thanks for stopping by.

My post today is something I done for my neice Megan.  She has a big Siberian Husky which is a bit (to say the least) silly but a loveable big boy.

I went to a charity shop in Belfast that was selling really old books for the library I think it was £1 for 3.

I took the photo below and made a siloutte of it and put it into the B.A.D.S Bookfolding program with a lot of tweaking and with the help of another program I eventually got it done. I backed it with some patterned paper from My Minds Eye and printed off the two photos and attached them to the front and back.  The photo above is one of my favourites of him wearing Megans sunglasses.

So I had some chipboard letters and inked round the edge with Hickory smoke and attached a sunglasses charm onto one of the letters.

The flowers are made with a design which I saw on Create and craft I think it was Debbie Moore that demstrated it.  I used scraps from the patterned paper and some of the book paper that I took out of the book. The green leaves were cut out of scrap card stock from my stash.

I used a little piece of blue ribbon for his collar and two little bone brads on each corner.

The ribbon at the bottom is a piece of white seam binding and I used a printer thingy I got years ago that can print borders and images. I used again Hickory smoke distress ink and sponged lightly on the edge to highlight the image better.

Items Used:-

an old book from charity book shop
B.A.D.S. Book folding Program
Hickory Smoke Distress Ink
Chipboard Letters from Comstock Circus Collection from We Are Memory Keepers
Patterned papers - Boy Collection from My Minds Eye
Flowers are made from scraps of the above collections and book paper

Leaves are from scrap green card stock
Cosmic Shimmer pva glue
Double sided tape and Hot glue
little piece of blue ribbon from stampin up
white seam binding from Creative Expressions
Silver sunglasses charm
Xyron printer for the paw prints
